Site is Up
Thanks to a ton of work by my good friend Josh Parker, www.DrownRadio.com is up and running.
Now that I have a forum for discussing sounds, let me give you guys a bit of an update.
First of, Wednesday November 22nd will be the official re-launch of the site. To celebrate the event, I’ll be releasing a brand new track called Sicko! featuring the hacking, coughing, and rapping of MC Inadeqaute and Doctor Popular (Drown Radio). The winter is upon us, and this track is the cure for what ails you.
I’ll be in the studio this tuesday recording vox and mixing 4 new songs! One of these tracks, The Sound, is a collabo with my nerdcore buddy Beefy. The hook is tight, the beats are great, and I can’t wait for this song to get released. The Sound, as well as 3 other songs I produced, will soon be released on Beefy’s upcoming album Tube Technology, due to be released December 9th as a free download (I think).
Also in the works is some work with Cousin Isaac. I bought his album Prepare For Departure and loved it so much that I contacted him begging to hear more. We hit it off well and have been working on some collaborations. I’m doing a few remixes of my fave PFD track “Door To Door” and Isaac has written some spectacular lyrics for one of my favorite beats that I will release on my next album
Currently, I only have one album available. It is the split release I did with The Atomic Brothers, and it’s available on my DoctorPopular.com webstore. Copies are extremely limited!
I’m planning on releasing my next album by March, but I swamped with work right now, including working on beats for upcoming albums by MC Frontalot, Beefy, and others.
Now that the site is up, I can finally release the music video for “wtfs?”! This song originally appeared on the Drown Radio vs. Atomic Bros album, and is one of my favorite tracks. The video itself is from the 2006 Makers Faire in San Mateo and is shot on my wonderful circuit bent PXL 2000 by Waterhed. wtfs? makes a great sound track to the glitchy footage of robots, makers, and bikes.
